Kelly's DrivewayDue to inclement weather, the NWIA Board Office will be closed all day on Wednesday, February 3. However,  your awesome, amazing and incredibly dedicated staff will be checking messages occasionally throughout the day.

From their homes.  And probably while wearing their slippers.  And maybe even lounging all day in pajamas.

Sorry, did that cross the line of too much information?  Well, it’s the truth people.  We only speak the truth around here.

Please stay warm and safe during this storm!

NWIA member and REALTOR® Kasey Mitchell was install111111ed as the newest member of the Akron, Iowa City Council on Tuesday, December 14.  This was Mitchell’s first run for public office.

In an article in The Akron Hometowner newspaper published prior to his election, Mitchell discussed his run for public office.

“I was brought up in Akron,” he said regarding his motivation to run for the council. “You always see things you’d like to see changed but it doesn’t happen.”

“I’d like to see more voices heard, not just a certain group,” said Mitchell. “Everyone should have an opinion.”

The new solon has several goals for his time in office.  “I’d like to see more business come to Akron and help our existing businesses grow,” said Mitchell, adding he’d like to learn more about the politics in Akron and be a part of that group making decisions for Akron’s future.

REALTOR Ring Day 2015: Recap

By Kerri | December 7, 2015 | Comments Off on REALTOR Ring Day 2015: Recap

We enjoyed a wonderful day for REALTOR Ring Day across Siouxland on Friday, December 4.  Mild temperatures, sunny skies and an overall unusually gorgeous Friday in Iowa in December seemed to put both volunteers and shoppers alike in great holiday spirits.

Covering four locations for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign throughout the day, 56 members of the Northwest Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS volunteered, ringing bells for a total of 28 hours during the day-long event.

Thanks to our host locations for their hospitality on Friday:

Fareway on Indian Hills
Hy-Vee on Gordon
Hy-Vee on Hamilton
Hy-Vee in South Sioux City, NE

The total amount raised during the day from the four locations was $1458.97.  Not bad for a day’s work!

Thanks to all of our REALTOR members who generously give of their time to make this an important day of fundraising for our local Salvation Army organization.
